I am an ordained minister with Universal Life Church, performing wedding ceremonies according to YOUR WISHES.

Your wedding should be 100% according to your wishes. Together, we will tailor your wedding ceremony so that it's a perfect "fit" for both of you. I am here to officiate and solemnize your vows and to record the marriage license at the County Records Office for you.

My name is Terri Linzmeier. I've been married since 1985 and have four tall, gorgeous children, from college down to middle school. I will officiate your wedding ceremony and record the license with the county recorder for a $200 flat fee, plus a $50 gas/travel fee if I have to drive an hour or more to get to your wedding.

OR, if you come to any pretty park overlooking Dana Point Harbor / Marina or the beach here at Dana Point (located out past the Marine Institute) and bring your witnesses, one of us (my husband Mark, my son John, or I) will be happy to perform a simple ceremony for just $100. There are some lovely parks that overlook the ocean and the marina ( actually, you're required to have a permit - but I think we can just quietly slip over to the park and "tie the knot", as long as you're not setting up chairs or having a lot of guests ). I often marry Marines from Camp Pendleton, who want to have a small, pretty wedding before they are deployed. You can view my simple, traditional wedding ceremony HERE.

If you have more than 20 or 30 guests attending your wedding, I will provide a PA System (at no extra charge), which I'll use with a wireless microphone during your ceremony. You are most welcome to plug your iPod into the PA System to play some love songs and a "bridal march" if you're not having a live musician.

A bit of advice - even if you're on a budget, don't ask a friend take the photos to save some money. For some reason, that's an area where couples try to cut corners, but a friend doesn't get right in there and shoot photos throughout the ceremony (they're simply not comfortable getting right in there), and at best you'll have a nice collection of snapshots - but perhaps you won't have any portraits suitable for framing. A photographer will cost you between $200 and $20,000. Hire a photographer that's in your budget.

You can apply for your license at the Old County Courthouse on the corner of Broadway and Civic Center Drive in Santa Ana (it's the big old red building pictured at right), or you can go to the Laguna Hills Civic Center on El Toro Road in Laguna Hills. If you go to the Old County Courthouse, be sure to take an extra 15 minutes to go upstairs and see the historical courtroom, jury room, recorders room, and judges chambers that are on display - and don't forget to feed the meter. I got a ticket there, and it cost me $47. Ouch!
